The PRISM Steady-C anti-slip bicycle pedals are built for reliable everyday use on city and trekking bikes. Intended use: Bicycle pedals for compatible bicycles used for everyday riding, city cycling and trekking. The pedals feature an aluminium body with a thermoplastic pedal cage, an anti-slip surface, a CrMo axle with a 9/16-inch thread, ball bearings and integrated reflectors. Before installation, ensure that the crank arms are compatible with 9/16-inch threaded pedal axles. The pedals are not intended for extreme jumps, stunts or other activities outside their designated use.
Installation / use: Install the pedals according to the left and right side markings. The right pedal has a right-hand thread, while the left pedal has a left-hand thread. Clean the threads before installation and apply suitable assembly grease if required. Initially screw the pedals in by hand to prevent cross-threading or thread damage. Then tighten them using a suitable Allen key or 15 mm open-ended spanner to the specified torque. Before every ride, check that the pedals are securely attached, rotate freely and have intact anti-slip surfaces and reflectors. Ride carefully in wet conditions or with dirty shoe soles, as the risk of slipping may increase despite the anti-slip coating.
Care and cleaning: Regularly clean the pedals with a soft cloth, water and mild cleaning agent. Do not use aggressive chemicals or high-pressure cleaners, as these may damage the bearings and plastic components. Keep the anti-slip surfaces free from dirt, oil and grease. Regularly inspect the pedal bodies, axles, bearings, threads and reflectors for damage, corrosion, excessive play and unusual operating noises.
Replacement due to wear: Replace the pedals if cracks, deformation, damaged axles or threads, severely worn anti-slip surfaces, stiff bearings or excessive bearing play are detected. Replace damaged or missing reflectors to maintain visibility in road traffic. Do not continue using pedals with damaged threads or loose attachments. A damaged or incorrectly installed pedal may become detached or break, resulting in loss of control, falls and injury.
