What are the differences in BMX brakes?
BMX brakes can be divided into two main categories: U-Brakes and V-Brakes. U-brakes are usually found on BMX freestyle bikes, while V-brakes are often used on BMX race bikes. Both types of brakes consist of brake pads that push against the rims to slow or stop the bike.
The choice between U-brakes and V-brakes depends on the type of BMX riding you prefer. U-brakes often offer greater braking power, making them better suited for tricks and stunts that require precise control of speed. V-brakes, on the other hand, are more effective for BMX racing, as they offer strong deceleration and can bring the bike to a stop quickly.
Lastly, there is the so-called BMX Sidepull brake, which is only suitable for the front.
